The 8th Annual Plenary Conference of the SMI was hosted by the University of Ulster at its Magee Campus, Derry, on 7-9 May 2010.
The keynote speaker was Professor Nicola LeFanu (University of York), whose lecture was entitled 'Thinking in music, or Why universities need composers’.
