The organisers of the joint SMI/ICTM postgraduate conference (17-18 January 2020, University of Limerick) have provided a vital information sheet with advice for all who are plan to attend or thinking of attending -- about registration, accommodation, the conference dinner, travel and parking. They are also asking for volunteers to help with the management of the conference (see the final page of the document).

28 March: Award ceremony for the Irish Research Council - Harrison Medal, 2018

The Irish Research Council - Harrison Medal for 2018 was awarded to Professor Jim Samson: the award ceremony and lecture take place on Thursday 28 March 2019 at 6 pm, in the Organ Room of the RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music, Westland Row, Dublin 2). Professor Samson, who will deliver a lecture entitled 'Who needs a passport? Music in South East Europe', is Emeritus Professor of Music at Royal Holloway University of London.

Recently published: 'Creativity in Music in Ireland'

The Royal Irish Academy recently published a set of three position papers (on Science, Music, and the Irish language) that were prepared in response to the Creative Ireland Forum, the five-year initiative of the Irish Government that aims to place creativity at the centre of public policy.
