The 23rd annual plenary conference of the Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI) took place on 19-21 June 2025, hosted by the School of Music, University College Dublin. The keynote address was given by Professor Esteban Buch (Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris). On the day before the SMI conference, Wednesday 18 June 2025, the UCD School of Music also hosted a one-day Farewell Symposium in Honour of Harry White to mark Professor White's retirement as Chair of Music, UCD. Delegates to the SMI conference were invited to attend this additional event.
