The SMI's 11th annual postgraduate students' conference was held as a joint event with the Irish National Committee of the International Council for Traditional Music. It took place on 19-20 January 2018, hosted by the Department of Music, Maynooth University.
The keynote address was given by Professor Amanda Bayley (Bath Spa University): Creative and Interactive Processes in Cross-Cultural Collaborations. The conference included another in the SMI's series of careers forums, entitled 'Post-PhD: Career Opportunities In and Beyond the Academy'.
